Taco Tuesday wouldn’t be complete without a big bowl of guacamole! This Easy Guacamole recipe takes just 5 minutes and 5 ingredients to throw together.

I grew up in a house without guacamole. *Gasp!* Sad, I know. In fact, I didn’t actually eat an avocado until I was well into high school. If I’m being honest, I didn’t even really know what they were.
My mom, a bonafide guacamole lover for the first 20-something years of her life, developed a life-threatening allergy to avocados seemingly out of nowhere. What started as an innocent after-work snack ended up as a trip to the ER, so after that, nary an avocado was seen in our kitchen.

Thank god that’s over. Guac is still strictly off-limits for my poor, sweet mother, but now that I’m living on my own, I can stuff my face with as much delicious avocado as I please. (Sorry, mom. Love you.)
I have some hot takes on guacamole.
I believe in keeping it as simple as possible. In fact, I’d even go so far as to eliminate the red onion if I were really feeling lazy. All you really need to make a delicious dip are some ripe avocados, a ton of lime juice, a handful of cilantro, and plenty of salt.
I do typically spruce it up with some finely diced red onion, though. “Finely” is the key word here; huge hunks of red onion really interrupt the whole eating experience, imo.

But if you wanna jazz it up even more, feel free to chuck in some add-ins. Diced tomato and minced jalapeño are more than welcome in this here guacamole. Feeling crazy? Diced mango is delicious. Kyle would turn his nose up at it, but I’m a diehard sweet-and-savory lover, so load me up with mangos.
No matter your sweet-and-savory preferences, though, there’s no reason not to make this guacamole. Five minutes to dip nirvana. You’re welcome.
Craving something to eat with this guac? Pile it on:
Roasted Vegetable Tostadas
Smoky Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpea Tacos
Southwest Sweet Potato Breakfast Hash
or a really big chip, as shown here
